DANGAL AND DREAMS

Wikipedia – Dangal (English: Wrestling competition) is a 2016 Indian biographical sports drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. It stars Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat, who taught wrestling to his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. The former is India’s first female wrestler to win at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, where she won the gold medal (55 kg). Her sister Babita Kumari won the silver (51 kg). “Dangal” is the Hindi term for “a wrestling competition”.
Dangal is both inspiring and entertaining. The movie inspired me a lot and taught me many things. While watching this movie I took a decision to write an article on the same because there were many things that I could relate to our dreams and the life we are living. I found many realities in the movie. The message I am giving through this article is not only about the movie, it is about the reality.

REALITY? Okay! It’s about what I felt.

Amir Khan played a role of father in the movie who used to be a wrestler but he lost his dream because he did not earn well in his game. Therefore, he had a same dream for his son but when he has four daughters, he lost every hope.  He believed that only his son could accomplish his dream until he found the same talent of wrestling in his daughters. Afterward, he taught wrestling to his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. In the initial training, both of the girls were not interested in the game and gave numerous attempts to ran away from their trainings. However, they started showing enthusiasm in their game when they realized that their father is not doing anything wrong with them.

“Simply do not judge it before you understand it.”

As we, all know “hard work pays off”, Geeta became a national champion under her father’s guidance. There was time in Geeta’s life when she was forgetting everything that her father taught her to become a champion because she found new way of living life according to her that eventually emotionally broke her down.

At the end, once again, she recognized her real game through her father’s vision and that made her Champion in commonwealth games.

Do not handover your dreams to anyone.

Amir Khan as a wrestler had a dream to won a gold medal for the Nation and as a father; he had a same dream for his daughters. That simply means no matter how, he just wanted that gold medal for the country. If he fought with everyone for his daughters, why did not he fight for himself to get that gold medal? However, eventually he indirectly achieved his dream and made his daughters great inspiration to the world. Hats off!

Here I am not going to judge anyone’s life but somewhere in his journey, he faced disappointment because of Geeta’s unusual behavior. This is what happens when we expect anything from anyone.

Everything was favorable to Mahvir Singh when his daughter Geeta, was doing training under him but when Geeta adopted a new environment; she changed her mentality and started forgetting his teachings that affected both of their lives. Everyone is playing a game of perception; the world will convert into the same pattern that you have made inside your mind. This thing works in everyone’s life. Geeta changed the pattern of her thinking when she found that there is no one who could restrict her to live a life that she always wanted to live. She stopped living his father’s life and started living her own. However, when she realized that the aim yet to accomplished, she went back to her father and accepted all the teachings that her father gave her because it was her father’s dream after all.

Your dreams are more important than anything else is. You are the one who could agreeably achieve your dreams without getting hurt from anyone. Moreover, if you face any disappointment then only you will be responsible for that and you will not drown into the sea of negative thinking because of someone else who is working for your dreams. I hope you can relate it to the Movie.

When you are working for yourself then there are more chances that you can handle yourself during the tough times because when you handover your dreams to someone else then first you want that person to work according  you after that you can make yourself clam. Moreover, that person might take longer time than you do.

Everyone is different in their perspectives towards the world, therefore, do not let anyone put their feet inside your shoes and you too do not try to live someone else’s life because ultimately you will find out the way to live life according to you.

You are unique enough to enjoy your life and to achieve your Dreams.

Good luck!
